Similarly, you can also shoot for backlinks from the schools or companies that you recommend on the lists.

This can be flexible and work in any industry. You just need to consider content that includes many outbound links towards other companies or websites and how you can highlight them in a way that they may want to share with others.

All creative developments should be structured around the optimal keywords in your target market. It is crucial to make sure that you are never stuffing keywords that are irrelevant or do not pertain to the page. Further, if you find keywords or categories that you want to drive traffic to, make sure to build out content on the website that surrounds those new topics. This requires regular upkeep (every 6 months or so), but not so often that you don’t give time for web crawlers to find your refreshes and update the search engine accordingly.

It is also important to consistently watch search trends surrounding your targeting audience and note them so that you can actively produce content that captures gaps in the market. You can also use tools like SEMRush to generate lists of keywords that are leading searchers to your competitors so that you can make sure to create content around those terms as well. Lastly, tools like this will show which terms are of high value (have plenty of search volume), but are not competitive (is not leading to many other websites). This gives you insights into gaps in the market as well. Incorporating terms like this into the content itself, or tagging the content with these terms (on the backend), is most beneficial because it is relevant to your website but will not get buried by all of the other websites in the market.

These strategic steps are paramount because creating content full of a large number of general keywords or filling the backend code with said keywords will result in your website getting widespread visibility, but often with irrelevant searchers and therefore won’t result in customers. Otherwise, it will lose traffic because too many other websites are also creating content with those terms. It will be difficult for your website links to appear on the first page of the search results. SEO is a skill that can be done by many, but if it is done without thoughtful strategy around user intent, it will not be efficient and your efforts might be wasted.
